overcoming writer's block

who do we call a writer. everyone are. everyone are capable of becoming a writer. you not necessary had to be writing a book or script or papers or magazines to be called a writer. by writing your own journal also you are already a writer. and blogs...well that are real writing too.

so, at times we do face situation when we just not able to pen down ( or in this case type down ) our thoughts. it would be just frustrating. here i would want to share from my reading on how to get your writing back on track.

1. understand what is causing the block. a distraction from household chore, or simply lack of interest in the subject matter. writing requires concentration and involvement. ( no wonder in movies, writers normally isolating themselves, but it not necessarily need to be done though that would be nice ).

2. distract yourself for a few minutes. drop the pen ( or the lappy) and focus on anything else. read a book or watch tv. make yourself a hot cup of masala chai and wonder about mesopotamian civilisation.

3. kickstart  your imagination by reading topics of interest. motivate yourself by reading your fav author and revel in his style.

4. try not to criticise your work straight away. even though we reserve the editing job for later, the left side of the brain runs a constant check to perfect the imagination, which affects the  natural flow of thoughts

5. stop thinking about writing for a few a minutes. get into a meditative state or ankle-crunching pose. even if you do not succeed in reaching a meditative state, you should have new ideas raking your brain.
