my heart's first steps by jennifer graf groneberg

all mommy and daddy dearest, this books is all about the wonders babies and our children had made us to be. it's a collective effort of stories from mothers and fathers and the enchanting experiences and bittersweet memories they have with them.

it's definetely heartwarming and nice as some of the experiences are so much related to me. i found that it's good to know that we could relate to those stories.

why i read?

why we need to read?
how are we doing it?
what's stopping us?
why it's not a habitual something that we do?
how are we instilling it into our next generation?
why not?

let's face the music. internet or not, books are our needs. let's not compromise this. it should be press hard against our thick skulls that we need to read not just magazines but BOOKS. there are so much to learn from and gain.

twilight saga: new moon

yeah, eventually got this one.. can't wait for the movie. i bought this before my vacation... well it was a wonderful companion. finished on the 3rd day already. can't put it down.

well, i was quite edgy that half of the book were all about jacob and bella.... edward came into picture story towards the end... though i like jacob but i'm crazee about edward, so...

it's going to be great... i hope... the movie.

my twilight

okay! i'm crazeeeee in obsession of edward cullen.... his vampireish aroma and charismatic are so to be drool at.... i've become a more hopeless romantic.
i understand completely of all the huha of this mystical character.
i think stephenie meyers are a brilliant young writer and her imagination are astounding. it's a worth full of a reading and for keep..that's for sure.

i finished the book within a week.... so self absorbing in it that can't sleep.

finished lucky stars

stacey's mom, helen became a household name and are so popular, she even featured in Oprah. While stacey's career going further down to the slump.

she gave her peace of mind to jack rawlins and they've had fallen in love. it was my fav romantic comedy like story and it was fun to read.

there are a slight drama also when helen met a man of her dreams who turn out not as what it seems. this is when the challenge came for stacey to prove to her mother and it also shows how much a daughter loves and sacrifices meant. but towards the end the plot of the story got faster and a little off too.

overall, it was ****

lucky stars by jane heller

started on this book sept 14. so far, the writing are simple and straight forward. fast pace. story about stacy reiser pursuing an acting career in tinsel town. her mother a caring meddlesome helen had sold their house in cleveland and moved near to stacey.

imagine the amount of invasion. i don't know if i can tolerate that....hihihi. she had the opportunity to do a feature film but was given poor review by jack rawlins ( who has the gall to as handsome as he is ignorant).

i'm enjoying the book.

to be continued....

finished white oleander

it was somewhat amusing in a more literate way. i was sometimes caought in the adventure of Astrid, but was left trailing for the meaningful writing that was not captured thouroughly.

Astrid left from few others foster home. In the end, she concluded positively of all the foster mothers' meaningful impact to her life and has been responsible to shape her to what she has become.

my fav part (i thought is a bless in disguise )pg 459: " all my mothers. like guests at a fairy-tale christening they had bestowed their gifts on me. they were mine now. olivia's generosity, her knowledge of men. claire's tenderness and faith. if not for marvel, how would i penetrated the mysteries of american family? if not for niki, when might i learned to laugh? and yvonne, mi hermosa, you gave me the real mother, the blood mother, that wasn't behind wire, but somewhere inside. rena stole my pride but gave back something more, taught me to salvage, gleam from the wreckage what could be remade and resold.

i carried all of them, sculpted by every hnd i'd passed through, carelessly or lovingly, it didn't matter. amelia ramos, that skunk-streaked bitch, taught me to stand up for myself, beat the bars until i got what i needed. starr tried to kill me, but also bought me my first high heels. who would i give up now? the shape of my heart by tiffanie de bartolo

the story is about beatrice a jewellary designer whom had met jacob a writer, thru' a personal ad which read

if your intentions are pure
i'm seeking a friend
for the end
of the world

so they met he called him trixie which is short for beatrice.. she never been called but she loves it. at the first meeting, he just stared at her for couple of minutes.

they fall in love, they fought, they make up, they fought, they share laughter and sadness... typical love story of course, but the end was not your normal live happily ever after... jacob died...huhuhu..

the writing was simple and fun. fast and delirious yet is deeply felt. ***** for tiffanie de bartolo

actually i had already post this in my other blog . hihihi but i love this book so copy it here lah kay!

white oleander by janet fitch

started to read this book august 20, 2009. like a little bit boring. the sentences are more complicated and poetic. not my cup of tea. not much.

story about astrid and her mother. the intro reminded me a little bit on a movie ( forgotten its title) starring natalie portman and alaa forgot her name also lah. where by the mother was a little irresponsible and the daughter has more senses.

the mother, ingrid got herself fallen for a guy, the guy's a liar and she took revenge to him. killed him. she got to prisoned. astrid are now leaving with foster parents. the first one, she got hooked herself with a 50 years old man ( his actually her foster mother's boyfriend and she was actually only 14 yo ), foster mom caught her and shot her.

she moved than to a new foster family, the turlock. at the moment the mom was hard. asks her to clean up, baby sit, laundry and worst of all a beautician. again got herself attached to a lady who was not accepted in the neighborhood. again got thrown out and went to live to another foster home that didn't feed her lunch , lock the fridge and just give dinner only.

she than asks for a new placement. after some distress, she manage out and was place into a very nice actress lady and the husband does something on tv. she is having a time of her life now. leaving her dream with the richards, only that ron is not all that great. claire is facing a strenous relationship with the husband. suspected he has other women.

intro
